Meeting Follow-up

Well, I survived our meeting (see previous entry if you need to catch up). We had what I consider to be a pretty positive meeting. The general theme is that my team wants more communication from the management team.

We all know that communication is the key to--well, everything. And honestly I thought we were doing a pretty good job. But the tribe has spoken and we have not been doing as well as I thought.

I used to do a monthly newsletter to update everyone on what's going on. I quit doing that when I started working in the salon full time and quit my other job. I figured that with me being onsite we wouldn't have the need for a newsletter. Oddly enough, one of the suggestions Monday was to bring back the newsletter. So today I spent some time putting together what I thought would be a mini-newsletter. When I started typing I thought it would be a single page. by the time I got through all the updates I had three full pages. I guess I had more to say than I realized!

Hopefully we're getting back on track. I think the big lesson is you can never let up. It takes constant effort to get things going well and keep them that way.

  1. Hello Cindy.
I learned about your Blog onthe Donald Trump Blog- was responding to a salon owner there regarding a cash flow issue. I wanted to send you a copy of what I wrote inthe event that itmight be of use to you or other salon owners.

    Best regards,

    Dear Michelle,

Your problem may seem difficult to you now, but from where I sit you have a gold mine. If you have an existing business then all you need is a tangible product you could offer your existing clients to add a second flow of income to your personal bank account. This is easy to find there are thousands of MLM and home based products available- we are presently very excited about a product called Zija.

We got involved for about $500 and it costs about $160 a month to place a auto ship to qualify for your commissions- the product may work great for a salon because it is one of those things that sells itself once the potential customer drinks it once. But you are in a great position if you have people come to you and sit down for a while, all you would have to do is offer them a beverage, then as they are getting their hair done tell them more about it.

Just say can I get you a cup of coffee, or would you like to sample something better we have? Let me give you a sample of this new beverage we have you will love it, and it is amazing!" Most salons pander to their clients, the only difference is you are giving them something that will give you a residual income if they like the product.

Heath and fitness products seem to be a sensible match for any salon, because people who are concerned with how they look, want to feel good too- it may be a very good companion for your existing business. Only you can decide what the best companion for your business will be, this is just my biased idea because I really am in love with this product and the business opportunity is amazing.

Whatever product you select, I hope you get a second line of income, that seems to me the most sensible solution to use your existing client/business to launch a second line of income that is reserved to repair and build back your personal wealth.

My very best wishes to you whatever you decide to bet involved in, I wish you and your family well.

  2. Just want to know how morale is now that its been a while since the blow up. Has the environment remained tense or were people able to work through it?

  3. Morale Update...
We've been able to move past it. I don't think that would have happened if the team felt that their concerns fell on deaf ears, but I think it's clear to them that we care about their opinions and want to make things better for them. Of course good intentions will only get you so will take follow-through!
